The Colosseum in Rome draws great number of tourists from all parts of the world at all times of the year and so it is the most favoured of all the tourist spots in Rome. Tourists can be seen thoroughly revelling in the Colosseum by taking photographs.

The Colosseum in Rome was the main gladiator arena in ancient Rome and despite its age, its basic structure is still very much in place.

The place to visit in Rome is the Palatine that is a vast excavation site that is of a great tourist significance. The Palatine in Rome has proved to be the wealthiest district of Rome by the very presence of various palaces including the royal mansion of Emperor Domitian.

You may take some more hours to visit the Palatine in complete because of its large expanse. As it is close to the Colosseum it recommended indeed to visit both these places in a single day. The cost of covering both these places in a single day is 8 Euros.

The Roman Forum in Rome is an excavated area of what used to be a chief market place and public area in the ancient city of Rome. Public buildings and squares with statues on display are among the sightseeing attractions at the Roman Forum. Guided sightseeing tours of the forum are available in English at a cost of 4 Euros. This sightseeing attraction in Rome is open from 9-5 daily.

Capitoline Hill is considered to be the predecessor to the Capital Hill in the USA. This place had been the headquarters to the municipal government and the city council of the ancient Rome. The chief attraction here is the large construction that was unearthed. There are also other excavated pieces by the archaeologists that can be seen here.

In the major public square lies the statue of Marcus Aurelius at the Capitoline Hill. There is also the world's oldest Museum present in the Capitoline Hill. A visit to this Museum is not to be missed.

St. Mary's church in Aracoeli in Rome is another must to see in the city. This looks great with gorgeous fresco paintings on its interior walls and a statue of Jesus.

If you want to enjoy a great view of the city of Rome then the Piazza Venezia is the place to have so. Piazza Venezia has the tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Basilica of St. Mark.
