Memory Cards For Cameras And The Age Of SDHC VS SDXC

by Rick Newman

The race between data storage has units has made the product more compact and handy. This has brought a new format of data storage to the world of computers and computer systems. This has made the world a little easier to deal with but the public must always look at SDHC vs SDXC and decide which is the best.

If you are looking for memory cards for cameras, you should know that all storage devices are the same, their are differences with saving the information and he size of the storage limt. This is a wide margin across the SDHC vs SDXC. It can be difficult sometimes to find the correct media to store the information. It is not a good thing to lose a project when it is needed. It is good that the SD family is a reliable storage family for computer systems.

The SDHC format stands for secure digital high capacity which is an expanded version of the standard storage devices known as the SD family. The storage level is up to thirty-two gigabytes of memory. This format carries the same format at the older SD card types. The device uses sector addressing and not the byte addressing as the standard is for older types of storage units of this class.

The method known as byte addressing will be able to a person up to 4 gigabytes. The other format known as sector addressing can go up to 32 GB. It is said that the format will be able to go over 32. This type of method will not work on the older forms of computers. The label for the older type is the SD 1.0 format which is based on the method of storage for the older models.

The year 2009 saw the introduction to the SDXC method which is known for secure digital extended capacity. The place that the device was first shown to the world was at the Consumer Electronics Show or CES. SDHC can go over the threshold of 32 GB, but it has been set with an artificial limit by the industry which is based on the 2.0 SD setup. The start of the SDXCs are regulated by the 3.0 method which will later turn to a 4.0 classification during the time of 2011.

SD 3.0 specifications for the SDXC storage device has a 832 Mbit per second transfer rate. This has been labeled as UHS104 speeds. The 2.4 gb transfer is set for the 4.0 specifications for the SD family. The method for this type of the SD family uses exFAT file system. The SD 3.0 will take NTFS and others as well.

The year 1999 saw the creation of the SD format through SanDisk, Matsushita, and Toshiba. They developed the market in opposition to the Sony Memory Stick which was put out by MagicGate DRM. The SD method was brought to the world by MultiMediaCard. The two would change the face of the way that data was stored.

SDHC vs SDXC can be determined by the point of view of the computer user. The benefits of the secure digital extended capacity is that it can go up to 2 TB of data storage. Both can be used by different file systems and computers when trying to store data information. The choice is up to the person and what they want to do when saving the information.

memory cards for cameras and SDHC VS SDXC,SDXC is going to give you the ability to store even more data on your computer. The world of technology has definitely increased.
