Major and Minor Changes To The Green Lantern Outfit

It is a suit that is recognizable as the person chosen to wear it. It is none other than the Green Lantern outfit. There is a lot of difference that has come from. Since the early days when the super hero first graced the pages of the comics, the suit has taken on a new character with every person that has taken the oath and swore to uphold the code of the lantern. Alan Scott was the first man chosen to grace the costume and make a statement all on his own with his suit.
Imagine a puffy red top with a large yellow circle in the chest and the sign of the Green Lantern in it. There was also the black pants, boots, gloves and mask that all finished off the look. Many, when they first saw him thought that the character looked a little too ridiculous and had a hard time getting behind the outfit. The part that went a long way to making it difficult to take him seriously was that of the black cape with the bright green lining.
Hal Jordan was the next individual to step into the uniform and turn into a Lantern. His outfit was a little more in line with what we typically correlate with the persona. The pants were still black but the top was a mixture of black and green.
The gloves being black to match the rest of the black on the costume allowed fans to see the character as more of a super hero and less than that of a cartoon character. This was one of the biggest concerns that the comic book community had and expressed. It would not be until Guy Gardner that the suit would see more changes.
Guy Gardner was the following in line to take on the character, and as with the prior versions, Gardner made his suit his own and came out to resemble a blend between a robot and the previous versions. The black pants and green and black top were still in place, but the gloves, mask and boots all appeared to be from the space age, because they had a more robotic look and was up to this point typically the most popular version of the superhero yet. The adjustments to the outfit would see the most extreme (blank) yet with Kyle Rayners.
Kyle Rayners would be known as the last person to fill the suit. While it was, a drastic change from the Gardner version Rayners was proven to be the closest thing that the makers of the character had in mind. The green and black theme radiated all through the costume. This is the version that is seen in the latest movie to hit theaters this year.
Over the years, these changes have helped to evolve the character into being a lot more like a superhero and a lot less like a comic book hero. This is also one of the reasons that these outfits will be so popular this Halloween season as kids and adults alike will all want to look like the hero from the movie.
Now that a person has all of the information that they need about the Green Lantern costume, there is no reason why a person will have problems with being able to distinguish the difference in the various forms that have been seen over the last few years.
